Multitasking
Is Multitasking effective – How many times have you heard someone say they are great multitaskers – don’t get me wrong at points we are all guilty of multitasking.
Truth is: Science proves multitasking is not the most effective way to accomplish tasks. Multitasking is for producing subpar results. Science proves the brain lacks energy to perform 2 tasks at a high level at once. Each task will be performed at a lower efficiency level in comparison to taking on 1 task at a time.
1,1,1 = 3 rule. Invest your time & focus into three tasks – you will only be mentally & physically capable of giving 33.3% effort. Give your energy and focus to one task at a time and you will see greater results, as a higher percentage of your brain is able to focus on the task at hand.
As I read the one thing by Gary w. Keller I started doing equations in mind – how many other things does this apply too? Besides texting & driving – joking.
Coming from a fitness background the gears were turning – how and where can I apply this / program this. I chose to invest 100% into my squat (will post additional article to elaborate on my training method). Over the course of 8 months of dedicating my training focus on the squat movement ( Natural athlete) my squat PR went from 240lbs to 315 lbs. Proof is in the pudding.
The picture I am trying to paint is, if you want to achieve something at a high level – Science proves it requires 100% of your focus.
